this project in one word: thoughtful.

kind was the first brand i focused on after the onset of caronavirus, living back with my parents rather than in the city i had grown to love. i wanted to come up with something with the potential to make the world better, hoping that the world would have gone back to normal in 2021. now in 2022 as things are just now starting to return to how they were, i still feel like this project holds up, and i’m incredibly proud of what i created.

let’s get into it.

the video above showcases events that changed our world in 2020, including the australia wildfires, the deaths of both kobe bryant and chadwick boseman, john boyega’s speech for blm, and covid-19.

instagram acts as the main platform for the campaign, with cutdowns of the original video above with quotes from those shown.

chadwick boseman was an heroic figure, not only for his iconic role as king t’challa in the marvel cinematic universe, but also for his unending dedication to helping underserved communities both before and throughout the covid-19 pandemic. we at kind snacks do our best to honor his legacy and be #KINDToOurWorld.

“we all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. but in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. we must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe." - king t’challa

the tragic death of george floyd in may of 2020 sparked a renewed passion for racial justice, starting conversations about equality and reform. at the forefront of this movement was star wars actor john boyega, whose peaceful protest in hyde park set the stage for more all around the world. kind snacks supports john and his fight for racial equality in an effort to be #KINDToOurWorld.

“we can all join together to make this a better world. we can all do it together to make this special. we can all join together.” - john boyega

kobe bryant’s legacy both on and off the court shaped the world forever. following the heartbreaking loss of bryant and his daughter gianna in january of 2020, people around the world continue to share the ways in which kobe inspired them, both through the communities he served and his devotion to his game. we celebrate kobe’s life and strive to honor him by being #KINDToOurWorld.

“the biggest mistake we make in our life is thinking we have time." - kobe bryant
